The Services segment comprises Otto Group’s logistics and travel services as well its purchasing companies.
All Hermes logistics operations in Germany, Great Britain, Austria and Italy are bundled under the Hermes umbrella brand. As a global enabler of a complete retail and services portfolio, Hermes helps its customers purchase retail-related services along the entire value chain. Hermes offers complete commercial services – from procurement and quality control to transportation, warehousing, web enabling and reliable delivery offers – either one-stop or individually tailored to specific needs. This allows customers to fully concentrate on their core competencies and outsource other tasks to Hermes as a reliable partner.
With 14,000 parcel shops, Hermes Logistik Gruppe Deutschland is Germany’s biggest independent B2C and C2C parcel delivery service for parcels of up to 31.5 kg.
Hermes Transport Logistics is responsible for the transport and customs clearance of parcels within Hermes Europe. Hermes Fulfilment handles the logistics. Other services include web shop management, credit checks, debt collection services, and receivables and returns management.
Hermes NexTec provides solutions along the whole e-commerce value chain for customers in the fashion and lifestyle industry – from shop management and cross media marketing through to distribution and customer service.
The Hermes-OTTO International Group is the central procurement company for the Otto Group. It sources goods from the world's most important markets. Originally founded in 1966, Hermes-OTTO International was relaunched in 2008, opening its services to third-party business customers. It has now become firmly established in the marketplace as a services and trading company providing sourcing for customers in Europe, Canada, USA, Australia, Russia and Asia. 50 percent of its revenues come from customers outside the Group.
Hermes-OTTO International’s sustainable sourcing policy is becoming increasingly important for customers. The company provides socially responsible production conditions and environmentally optimised transport and supply routes. Like all Otto Group companies, Hermes-OTTO International complies with the Otto Group’s strict social and environmental standards.
Under the umbrella brand of Hermes Hansecontrol, the Hansecontrol GmbH testing institute and Hansecontrol Zertifizierungsgesellschaft mbH (Hansecontrol-CERT), a legally authorized GS testing institute, ensure that standards are maintained. These international companies examine products in their labs before they are imported to Germany.
Travel and tourism services are bundled in OTTO Freizeit and Touristik GmbH (OFT). In the retail store, the company is represented mainly by the core brand Reiseland with around 370 travel agencies and covers the whole spectrum of tourism services. In online marketing OFT is with the travel portals flug.de, travel-overland.de and travelchannel.de one of Germany's leading online travel agents.
