Ulas, Shift Leader in Outbound Goods

Moved from MyToys Logistics to Hermes Germany.

What made you decide to move between Group companies?

I wasn't satisfied with my job at that time and was looking for something new.

Why was moving to another Otto Group company the right choice for you?

The overall job package at Hermes was exactly what I was looking for at that time.

How do you feel about having taken this step?

Positive.

How did your team and manager react when you told them the news?

My manager and the people in my teams didn't expect me to move, so they were quite disappointed – but my colleagues could also understand my decision.

What surprised you about your new Group company?

The different working approach – but I expected this, as I was moving from a mail-order company to a delivery service.

Are there any overlaps between your previous role and your current one?

Personnel capacity planning is one of the main overlaps between these two Group companies. I was able to seamlessly apply my skills as a Shift Leader in my current position and also to contribute my experience from my previous role.

What advice would you give colleagues who are also considering a Group-internal career move?

Make an informed decision. A move within the Otto Group has advantages, as you can find a lot of familiar elements within the Group – these will help you settle in more quickly at your new company. In addition, you can apply your experience from the previous company, for example regarding business processes, to help catalyze improvements.
